Mt Eden Reservoir Reconstruction
Auckland, New Zealand
Main Contractor Brian Perry Civil
This contract required the replacement of the existing 3 tanks, within the existing footprint, that are 6 meters deep with the combined area of a rugby field. The tanks are between 80 and 100 years old and are the highest in the Auckland area.
Correct curing of the new structural concrete was deemed essential by the design team, so Transguard 4000 was chosen for its ability to hold a sheet of water in direct contact with the curing concrete and stop surface dehydration.
The Gibbons Contractors have found the blanket easy to work with and from the photos the difference between the exposed concrete and the covered concrete is obvious.
